Celebrating over 50 years of serving medical writers in the Delaware Valley

Making a Case for Case Studies

Join your DVC colleagues on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, from 5:30-8:00 pm at the University of the Sciences in Philadelphia for an in-depth look into medical writing and case studies.

Our guest speaker, fellow DVC member Scott Kober, MBA, and President of MedCaseWriter, Inc., will present “Making a Case for Case Studies,” in which he will examine the building blocks behind the development of effective case studies and discuss some of the common pitfalls many medical writers come across when tasked with a new assignment.

Developing engaging, robust case studies is a hallmark of effective adult education and is becoming increasingly more important in the education of healthcare professionals. With the emergence of novel platforms that allow for complex, multimedia features, the role of the medical writer in crafting effective case studies is becoming more important than ever. We’ll talk about effective strategies to develop your patient and bring him/her through various challenging situations (and how to make these both entertaining and educational). We’ll discuss the importance of compelling “decision point” questions (and how to tie these to the overall course objectives). And we’ll laugh (yes, yes we will).
