October 2017 Dinner Meeting

Cardiovascular Diseases & Precision Medicine—Emerging Concepts, Applications, & Future Perspectives

Join your DVC colleagues on Wednesday, October 4, 2017, from 6:00-8:30 pm at the Stage House Tavern in Somerset NJ, for a dinner presentation that will be led by fellow DVC member Manoj Jadhav, PhD, FCP Translational Clinical Pharmacologist, CRC Pharma, LLC, who will present: Cardiovascular Diseases & Precision Medicine—Emerging Concepts, Applications, & Future Perspectives.

Although cancer has been the main focus of such initiatives as the Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI) implemented in 2015 by the Obama Administration, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain the leading cause of death in the United States. However, what has been learned about cancer through precision medicine can also be applied to CVDs. Yet there are few success stories in precision cardiology to date. Dr. Manoj Jadhav will discuss this disparity as well as concepts in precision cardiology, successful case studies, how to approach and apply it to public health, and perspectives on its future.

Dr. Jadhav is a translational clinical pharmacologist with over 10 years of experience in industry and academia and manages the strategic, scientific planning, and business functions for CRC Pharma, LLC. His professional experience includes planning, designing, execution, and interpretation of clinical studies (prospective, retrospective, interventional, and observational) in therapeutic areas such as oncology, cardiovascular, and infectious diseases. Dr. Jadhav was part of a successful team that developed and launched the first liposomal amphotericin B (Fungisome™) in India. He has over 25 peer-reviewed publications, co-edited a book, and has authored numerous posters, and has given live presentations worldwide.
Dr. Jadhav, is the founding member of the South Asian College of Clinical Pharmacology (SAC-ACCP) in Mumbai, India. He is Fellow of the ACCP and serves on several committees to foster the mission and vision of ACCP. He is also member the Drug Information Association. Dr. Jadhav received his PhD in Pharmaceutics from Bombay College of Pharmacy and King Edward Memorial Hospital, University of Mumbai, India, and did his postdoctoral fellowship at the Colleges of Pharmacy and Medicine at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL.
