AMWA-DVC: Celebrating 50 years of serving medical writers in the Delaware Valley
Welcome to the web site for the Delaware Valley Chapter of the American Medical Writers Association (AMWA-DVC). AMWA-DVC is the largest AMWA chapter, with about 900 members. Our programs include dinner meetings, an annual Freelance Workshop, and an annual Princeton Conference. Explore our Web site to learn more about us. We welcome your feedback. Please email your questions or comments to the Web Chair. AMWA National Conference  AMWA-DVC is so big! Get to know your neighbors! The Greet and Go at the Annual Conference is a great way to connect with fellow AMWA members from the Delaware Valley Chapter (DVC). In addition to being the largest chapter in AMWA, we cover a wide geographic region, and members often live too far to make it to the monthly meetings. This is your chance to connect and network. Following the Greet and Go, the DVC organizes dinners at various restaurants in close proximity to the conference for those who want to continue their conversations. Check back for updates as we get closer to the conference. AMWA-DVC June Dinner and Business Meeting  Our final dinner meeting of the 2009 program year will include the annual business meeting with elections and volunteer recognition. Our speaker for the evening will be Jim Gurr, Ph.D., Director of Publications and External Communications at Wyeth Research in Collegeville, Pennsylvania, and a member of the Standards and Best Practices Committee of the International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP). In his presentation, “Good Publication Practice for Communicating Company-Sponsored Medical Research,” Jim will discuss the newly revised Good Publication Practice Guidelines developed by ISMPP. At the door: Add $10.00; available only if space permits. DIRECTIONS: From Philadelphia and South Take I-95 South to I-476 North. Follow I-476 North to I-76 West and exit at Mall Boulevard. Bear right onto Mall Boulevard and proceed to the traffic light. Turn right onto Gulph Road. The hotel is 1 mile on the right. From the North Take I-476 to I-76 West. Take Exit 326 (Valley Forge). Proceed through the toll booth and take the first exit, merging onto Gulph Road. The hotel is the second building on the right. From Harrisburg (West) Take I-76 East to Valley Forge (Exit 326). Pass through the tollbooths and take the first exit for Valley Forge. Merge onto Gulph Road. The hotel is the second building on the right. After this date, AMWA-DVC must insist that you remit payment whether or not you attend the program, as we incur costs based upon advance registration.
